International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Qatar has partnered with the ICC Headquarters, based in Paris, France, to deliver an information session on the ICC Customs and Trade Facilitation Global Commission on Tuesday, 28th of February, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Doha time. The event will be taking place virtually. The information session will kick start with Ms. Florence Binta Diao-Gueye, Global Policy Lead, Trade & Customs at ICC, introducing ICC’s Commission on Global Customs and Trade Facilitation, its functioning and priorities for 2023. Subsequently, Ms. Diao-Gueye will lead an open discussion that aims to consult members of the private sector on the current systems, and provide a platform to share or raise areas of interest ahead of the launch of the Customs and Trade Facilitation Committee at ICC Qatar. During the online event, ICC Qatar will announce further information on the vacancies in the leadership roles, within the Commission, which will be open for members to submit their candidacy for. Upon securing the leadership committee for the local commission and following its launch, the Commission will focus on domestic challenges and trends to advance business views to improve customs and trade facilitation processes in Qatar while also feeding into international policymaking on the topics of interest, e.g., at the World Customs Organization. The issues raised during the information session will inform the strategic direction for ICC Qatar’s Commission on Customs and Trade Facilitation. The information session will be open to members and non-members of ICC Qatar, and welcomes members of the private sector, legal consultants, customs brokers, chambers of commerce, logistics providers, transport service suppliers, insurance providers, banks, and freight forwarders – (list not exclusive).\nYou May Also Like
